Couples Therapy

Feel like loving partners again, not just people who coexist.

You share a bed, a home, and a life.
But you miss each other.

You might be a few years into your relationship and feeling a distance growing. Or you've been together for decades—through new parenthood, an empty nest, a retirement, blending your families, caring for each other's parents—and you're still looking for therapy that actually works.

Maybe something happened that damaged the trust between you and you haven't been able to find your way back since.

Whatever it was, somewhere along the way the relationship stopped getting the attention it needs to thrive. You stopped going on dates and having conversations that weren't about whose turn it is to take out the trash.

You stopped feeling like each other's priority and started feeling more like roommates.

MY APPROACH

I'm not here to validate one of you and prove the other wrong. My job is to help you both feel heard.

In my experience, most couples wait much longer than they should before asking for help.  Not because they don’t love each other, but because they hope the problem will clear up on its own. That’s rarely the case.

To be clear, I don't expect your relationship to be perfect or conflict-free. Mine isn't, and I've been married for more than 30 years. I've been up, down, sideways, and backwards with my wife, but if it wasn't for grace and forgiveness, we wouldn't be together.

I don’t ask each of you to bring 50 percent. I ask both of you to bring your full effort to the process.

That means being willing to look at your own part, stay engaged when things get uncomfortable, and do the work both in and outside of our sessions.

Our sessions will be conversational, interactive, and practical. You won’t be rehashing the same argument from week to week. You'll learn tools and strategies that help you reconnect and enjoy being together again.

The goal isn't simply to argue less. It's to help you feel like partners again.

You'll leave each session with exercises tailored to what we're working on together because lasting change doesn't happen only during the hour we spend together. In my 34+ years of practice, I've found that the couples who practice what they learn between sessions make the most meaningful progress. If you're both committed to the process, I believe we can help you reconnect—even if you've felt distant for years.
